Happy Easter!

** This blog is a little scattered and out of order, Sorry! ** I have so many pictures to share, but not enough time for this blog. I'll get to them next time...

We had a wonderful Easter this year. Once again, our girls are so blessed to have such a wonderful family! The girls were up bright and early to check on their goodies. It's always so much fun to see their excitement. This year, however, Hadley had a better understanding of why we celebrate Easter. They had discussed the Easter story at school and even made their own story using eggs. She loves telling the story. One day last week Hadley and Brooke were playing in their playhouse in the backyard. I kept hearing Hadley tell Brooke to drink her blood. I wasn't quite sure where that came from until I opened my email and saw that they had discussed communion at school. Later, at dinner she balled up her bread and tried to get Brooke to "eat her body. It's not my real body, it's just bread, Brooke!" she told her. After the girls looked through their baskets, we went to church. When Brooke turned three she moved up to a new room for child care. She WILL NOT go to her new room. She has gone with us to big church for the last couple weeks. We are trying to get her comfortable enough to stay without us, but it's not looking good. Normally my Mom and Dad would be the volunteers in the room, so we didn't have to worry about her being upset, but now that she has new teachers, she is scared. We'll keep trying because she's got to go to pre-school this fall. After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa Tweryon's for lunch. The weather cooperated and the rain stayed away so the kids (I can't say girls anymore, even though Ryker didn't participate in the egg hunt this year) could get outside for the Easter egg hunt and play time.

Ok, here are our first official cousin pictures with Ryker and let's just say we hope the next round goes a little smoother. Ellie was upset because she wanted to hold Ryker. Kami wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken and Hadley just assumed she got to hold him because she was the oldest.

When we switched Ryker to Ellie, Kami was completely done with pictures and cried the entire time. I love how Hadley and Brooke are oblivious to the fact that she's bawling and sit there with big smiles on their faces.

We brought the bounce house over for the girls to play in

There was an egg hiding on top of the chicken shed.

Brooke absolutely loves to swing. I love the smile on her face when she swings. I keep telling her that I am going to take her spring pictures while she's swinging so I can get her to look at me and smile!

Brian and I made this painting thing for the girls for Easter. I had mentioned that they loved painting on the glass at the museum in Bloomington, so we figured we would give it a try. We used plexi glass and PVC pipe and made a "painting window" complete with paint, squeegees and squirt bottles. We've had one chance to get outside so far. This rain NEEDS to go away, and fast! In the backyard, you'll notice our new patio and fire pit area. Brian, Bill and my Dad worked all Saturday and few weeks ago to finish it and it looks great. We are looking forward to having outside parties this summer. Our house and yard might be small, but our yard is fenced and safe for the kids to play in. I will even let the big girls out in the yard by themselves and feel comfortable that I can hear them.

Last weekend we went to the Easter egg hunt at the high school. The weather was cruddy so it was held in the gym, again. For the three years that we have been going, it's never been able to be outside. The Easter bunny and Mrs. Bunny made their appearance and Brooke was so scared of them she was shaking. She didn't want to be close enough to even see them. The girls found plenty of eggs and even won a prize. After the hunt, we let the girls run around the gym and play with the volleyballs. They had a blast! I wish we could do that more often on a rainy day!

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Last week we celebrated Nana's birthday! I arranged for her friends Janet and Julie to bring her to lunch and we would surprise her at the restaurant. The girls were so excited to put on pretty dresses, make-up and jewelry for the surprise party! I have some girly girls that's for sure! We got Nana a bouquet of flowers and a balloon and made her brownies.

Nana and her girls -- Notice Hadley's death grip on the balloon? She was sooooo worried about the balloon blowing away! Even though it was weighted and I showed her that it couldn't blow away, she wouldn't stop talking about it. She even cried on the way to the car because she was afraid Nana would lose it.

Being nosy!

Waiting patiently for the surprise.

We hope you had wonderful birthday, Nana. Thank you for being such a great Mom and Nana! We love you very much. Thanks for always being there for us!

Happy BIRTHday, Ryker Bradley Tweryon!

Ryker Bradley Tweryon was born on Monday, April 4th at 2:21 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds 3 1/2 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long. He's healthy and beautiful and home with his mommy, daddy and big sister Ellie. Congratulations Tweryon family! We love you!

The girls and I headed up to the hospital around 10:30 on Monday morning. I had packed coloring books, DVD's, snacks, books, you name it... No amount of preparation can keep four (including Ellie) girls completely occupied for a day at the hospital. I thought we would head up for a little while, go home for naps, and go back to the hospital after Brian got home. When he was born, we ended up staying there and didn't get home until around 7:00 that night. It was a long day, but well worth it.

We found a Mommy puppy dog that had babies in its belly. Ellie loves puppies so we thought it was the perfect big sister gift for her. It was pretty funny to see these three little stuffed puppies come out of the mommy's tummy. When you get them close to their mom, they make kissing noises.

We tried to get the girls to rest, but they weren't really in the mood.

Hadley hadn't been feeling well, so I told her she couldn't go back to see Ryker at the hospital. I decided to not let Brooke or Kami go back either so she didn't feel completely left out. She was pretty upset, but Uncle Brad arranged for the nurse to bring him to the nursery window so the girls could all see him. They were all waiting so patiently for the curtain to open.

This is our last picture of the "Tweryon Girls." No more "just the girls" pictures. The next time we take a picture of the Tweryon cousins, we will have a little bit of blue in the picture :)
